Toronto Maple Leafs call up Nazem Kadri and Keith Aulie … Audio with Kadri, Burke and Wilson

3:13 pm:

2:57 pm:

  • Fan 590 Audio: Leafs Sr VP of Hockey Operations Dave Nonis discussing call ups and upcoming game.

2:46 pm:

2:30 pm:

1:00 pm:

10:36 am:

  • Greg Brady via twitter: People who Brady respect say that “Jerry D’Amigo’s more “NHL-ready” than Nazem Kadri, but D’Amigo wouldn’t satiate Leafs fanbase.”

9:50 am:

  • Burke told Gord Stellick before the Panthers game that the Maple Leafs would try “other ways” to improve their offense rather than recalling Nazem Kadri. Well the “other ways” didn’t last too long. Let the debate if the Maple Leafs are bringing up Nazem Kadri at the right time begin.

I think the best time to call up Kadri would have been if/when the Leafs fire Ron Wilson. Two stories would deflect some attention away from Kadri.

I’ll continue to add some pieces to this entry through out the day.

Wow….a lot of good audio clips on a big day. Keep them coming.

  3. Too much news wasted on a callup

A lot of space wasted for one unproven maybe type rookie. You’d think his name was Bobby Gretzky or Gordie Orr or something.

Lots of people were talking about it, and will continue to talk about it, well around Toronto anyways. On of the only cities were this type of exposure happens.

I wish there were more radio stations/sites like the the Fan 590 and the Globe and Mail who post audio (or videos). I’ve put in a few requests to stations with no luck so far.

Hey Mark Easson. I think Andrew Krystal might be reading your blog. Posted a comment on your blog about his sneeze at the end of one his interviews. A few days later, Krystal was telling his audience he thought people enjoy hearing gaffs on the radio.

Very good audio clips, i hope that Kadri scores twice or something to get some of the pressure of and more confidence. Toronto is very tough place but according to Kadri he enjoys it, haha, let’s see for how long :D.

Enjoing a lot of the interviews u post! thanks
