The St. Louis Blues have signed goaltender Brian Elliott to a 2 year contract extension.
Andy Strickland via twitter: Elliott’s deal will pay him $1.7 million in 2012-13 and $1.9 million in 2013-14.
Elliott had signed a 1 year, $600,000 deal in the offseason.

Elliott looks like the steal of the free agent class at this point. If he keeps it up (jury’s still out on that of course), St. Louis can trade Halak for more offensive firepower and add to what has already proven to be a very good team this year.

wow, one of the biggest steals for an organization in a long time… i wonder if the leafs would be interested in halak.. i dont think st louis would be too interested in trading halak.. halak and elliot seem to have an overall decent cap hit between them for the goalie position… halak would be good insurance in case elliot goes cold..
