Great Signing!!! Liles was just another great deal from Brian Burke. I can’t wait to see what big trade he is cooking up, but ALL trust in Burke. Very good trade deals even before he was with Toronto, and helped build up Vancouver’s team who’s in 2nd in the west conference.
I’ve listened to way too many rumors, now I could even care less since the rumors make it seem every good NHL player available is heading to Toronto.
It’s about time anyway. Canadian teams make the NHL – Sold out almost every game!!! The Americans have NFL, NBA, MLB like how greedy can you really get? when us Canadians only have 1 or 2 teams in NBA and MLB.
I don’t understand why Bettman just doesn’t agree on a Hamilton team and bringing back Quebec City Nordiques. Winnepeg Jets are doing pretty good considing first year back. In my opionion they should have used Pheonix Coyotes back to Winnepeg. And Atlanta to Hamilton.
GO LEAFS GO!!!! LILES glad to have you in for 4 more years!!!

If the Leafs do sign Liles for 4 years, it seems lot considering they have Gardiner, Jesse Blacker and Stuart Percy in the system.
They also have Aulie. The more I look at the extension, the more it seems that Schenn will be dealt. They may also deal Franson in a separate trade, most likely at season’s end.
Love the extension though. Liles is great offensively, and isn’t a huge liability in his own end.

what a great signing, burke’s job is safe for now. and with phaneuf, liles, gardiner, schenn, gunnarson, franson, komisarek, blacker, percy, holzer, and lashoff in the system, he needs to make a trade soon
