Our 3rd look at NHL attendance this season. The Winter Classic attendance is included in Philadlephia’s numbers, hence the high “% Capacity” number.
14 teams are at 100% or more. 21 teams are above 95% Capacity. There is a drop off after that as no team is between 86.1% and and 95.6.

It’s interesting.
There have been sellouts in the new year at the Honda Center, especially recently, there was even an attendance record, yet these statistics show a lower average compared to when the team played worse. It doesn’t make sense to me.

The Ducks attendance shown was after game 30. Not sure when there attendance record was, but their 31st home game had over 100%, and they’ve had 1 or 2 other good showings since.
If you look at their home games from 21-30, they played a couple none contending Eastern Conference teams and others that aren’t big draws: CAR, CAL, CBJ twice, DAL twice, COL, OTT, PHO, NYI.
Majority of the their home games in the 21-30 span was before they went on their little roll that got them back in it. After their 30th home game they went on an 8 game road trip.

You’re right, I missed some of these facts. Thanks Mark.

Winnipegs attendance goes from 15005 to 15004, who’s the idiot thats been missing jets games?
#5 by AJ at March 5th, 2012
D, Lil Jon probably forgot to cancel his season tickets after the franchise moved

Got to love the fact that even with being one of the worst team in the NHL, the habs still stand second in attendance.
Which bring me to that questions : Are those the actual people that GO to the game, or only the number of tickets SOLD ? I wonder how many peoples with season tickets, right now, don’t go to the games ( knowing that any lead the habs get they will find a way to blow it before the end of the game ).

The Islanders 2010-2011 avg. attendance figures can’t be right can they? Are they screwy between Dallas, Phoenix and NYI?
#8 by Don at April 5th, 2012
Interesting but it would be of more value to know the revenue generated by each franchise. I would expect the Canucks with sell outs and very high ticket prices far exceed the Coyotes with their low prices and small crowds. The difference would be far greater than one would expect.

First “TRADE-RUMOR” of the Summer…
Edmonton’s First-Overall Pick, Which will be Russian-Sniper “Nail Yakupov”…For… Pittsburgh Penguin Center “Jordan Staal”. Would you Make this DeaL..?

Keith — I was Wondering that Myself? I couldn’t Believe the “N.Y. islanders” were 2nd to Last in Att… I also think that the “NHL” has Got to Move those teams Out of “Phoenix” and “Dallas”. It’s Sad to See the Best Players in the World Play in Front of “Half-Empty Arenas”…
#11 by Peter J. Price at May 6th, 2012
Hey Guys, Who should Play for the Cup?…I would Like to See: ” LA Kings vs. Wash. Caps or NY Rangers”…
#12 by Peter J. Price at May 6th, 2012
The Penguins Should Keep their “Big 3″… Jordan Staal has One Year Left on his Contract, He’s Going to Get 7 and a Half Million Dollars a Year, Maybe even 8.. The Pens would be Paying “30 Million a Year” to Only 3 Players: Crosby, Malkin, Staal. Not to Mention, James Neal is Making 6 million and Kris Letang also will Want 6 to 7 million a Year! That’s a’lot of Money for Only a Few Players on the Team…

This Attendance Thing: You People aren’t Considering the Fact that Some Arenas “Seat Less People” than Other Arenas. Example: Chicago’s Arena can Seat Nearly 22,000 People, While Buffalo’s Arena Can Only Seat 18,000 People. So When you Look at these Attendance Figures, Remember to take in the Fact the “Capacity” these Arenas can Hold…
