Doan staying? No NTC or NMC for Weber … Visnovsky waits … Zetterberg next Wings captain? Beauchemin ready for camp

  • Josh Cooper of the Tennessean: Shea Weber’s agent Jarrett Bousquet said yesterday that the ‘offer sheet’ has been formalized into a contract, and that it doesn’t contain a no-trade or no-movement clause.
  • Brett Cyrgalis of the NY Post: Lubomir Visnovsky and the NHLPA made their case before an arbitrator on Tuesday, and a decision is expected before Sept. 15th. Arbitrator George Nicrolau will have to decide whether Visnovsky’s no-trade clause was permanently eliminated when he waived it in 2010 to go from the Oilers to the Ducks.

“If he loses, he goes to the Islanders happy,” Sheehy told The Post. “If he wins, he would go back to Anaheim.”

  • Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Danny Cleary is certain that Henrik Zetterberg will be the next captain of the Red Wings. The Wings may make an announcement next week as to who will be their next captain.
  • Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin said on Tuesday that his right shoulder is doing fine after surgery and he’d be ready for training camp if there isn’t a lockout.

DO EVERYONE A FAVOUR WILL YOU? STOP REPORTING ON SHANE DOAN. NOT KIDDING, NO ONE GIVES A BLEEP. YOU ARE NOW REPORTING WHAT SOMEONE ELSE REPORTED ON TWITTER AND WE ARE NOT ACTUALLY TALKING PULITZER PRIZE MATERIAL HERE.

I AM NOT BLAMING DOAN, I AM BLAMING YOU!!!

All we do here is report what others are reporting.

Not everyone is on twitter or follows Rimer.

Some people are interested in Doan still, mainly fans of teams who have put in an offer for him.

I get tired sometimes of reporting repetitive material, but not everyone comes to the site all the time, and we get new readers everyday. Need to report what is being reported by others, it’s what the site is about.

I completely understand where you are coming from and I read your site everyday (amongst others). In fact, I absolutely love your site.

That being said, how is Doan staying (should be ‘might be’ staying) news? You must realize by now that every hockey site in the world has been reporting on Doan for the last three months.

Recap : He wants to stay in Phoenix but might look at other teams if the ownership situation is not worked out.

Until you have something else, why oh why bother?

Hate to bitch you out so much but I am really fed up (not just with you, the entire hockey media are all in the same boat).

I get where you are coming from.

I do leave out other Doan repetitive info, but in this case, Rimer used “will” and not “might be” or “would like.” This IMO is a little different than in the past.

Rimer’s entire tweet: “I’m hearing Shane Doan will be staying with the Phoenix Coyotes “

@galactus.. why grind your gears over minutia? tail end of summer is always a quiet period for hockey… and w/ the lockout looming… interesting news is few and far between… sounds like prelockout crankiness on your part!!

@hotwings : Maybe you are right.

    1. I am going to Denver on my annual sports trip and I used to be a Nordiques fan.

    2. I was really looking forward to see Galchenyuk in action.

    3. I have OCD. I keep hearing about Doan staying in Phoenix 12 times per day everyday and I am very close to losing my S##T!

ya the lockout sucks balls.. what can u do though.. and ya all this doan stuff is mostly “who gives a crap” material… but the guy has to report it…

doan is great and all… but all this talk about 7mil a year for 3/4 years is just insane..

it should be interesting to see what happens with galchen. and all the other players from this years draft… grigo should be interesting since he went so low and id expect buff. to play him this year..

another notable would be leafs pick morgan reilly… because, burke said if he had the #1 pick, he would have taken morgan reilly over nail or anyone else… so doesnt that mean he is in the lineup this year? a #1 pick right? hopefully he doesnt get the nazim kadri carousel treatment…
