- Howard Berger of Berger Bytes: Berger thinks that if the Maple Leafs acquire Roberto Luongo from the Canucks, James Reimer will likely be traded as well. It likely wouldn’t be as part of the package that the Canucks would receive from the Leafs. Ben Scrivens would be an acceptable backup to Luongo. Burke would look to teams that may give Reimer a shot at being the No. 1 goalie, say Oilers or Lightning. The Lightning did acquire Anders Lindback, but he’s still unproven. The Panthers could also be in the mix. If a Luongo deal can’t be worked out, Reimer will be the Leafs No. 1 goalie.
