Brian Burke is a great man. He did his best and handled his firing with dignity. The media made me believe otherwise, but I watched all of this 3 times and see no reason to believe that Brian meant anything other than than the words he spoke..stop deciphering and start listening. Thanks Brian. Good effort man! and good luck to ya

I agree with RT above. It was evident during Burke’s tenure that he always placed the Leaf team and hockey operations ahead of personal time and goals. No decision made in the interest of the team can be guaranteed as a solution to the challenges presented, success is up to a whole lot of people and circumstances falling into place. I’m sorry to see him go and hope that the building blocks Brian put in place will prove fruitful. I hope Rogers respects his acknowledgement that they have the right to staff their team as they see fit. I also hope the acknowledge my right as a fan to cancel my internet contract with them in protest. Slainte Brian!

It sickens me as well, that someone with a legitimate personality gets the can. If Bell and Rogers want a frankenstein as GM, so be it. I wonder if their lowkey FrankenGM will have the heart to do as much charity work as Brian did.
Thumbs down Bell/Rogers.
