Free Agent Hits IV: Clarkson, Alfredsson, Emery, Flyers and Maple Leafs
  • Allan Walsh: “All NHL GM’s received a memo from the League TODAY informing them no negotiations or verbal offers allowed on pending UFA’s until tomorrow.”
  • Ian Mendes: Senators GM Bryan Murray said that Eugene Melnyk has given him the “green light” to go after a top-end forward. Ideal world they could get Daniel Alfredsson and David Clarkson.
  • Darren Dreger: The Flyers, Islanders and Oilers are believed to be after Ray Emery. Blackhawks are still in talks with him.
  • Tim Panaccio: The Flyers are out of the Tim Thomas running, still in on Emery and Evgeni Nabokov. Johan Hedberg is a wild card.
  • Tim Panaccio: The Flyers say they are still in on a possible Jaroslav Halak trade.
  • Josh Rimer: Rimer is hearing the Maple Leafs are in talks with Mike Ribeiro, Stephen Weiss and David Clarkson. Wouldn’t be able to sign all three, but two could be a possibility. Tyler Bozak is still a possibility.
