  • Darren Dreger: Little doubt that David Clarkson a seven year deal, and some GMs are thinking he’ll get $6 million plus.
  • Bob McKenzie: McKenzie thinks that Clarkson will end up with a Canadian team. He’s visited the Oilers, Senators and Maple Leafs. He also visited the Blue Jackets.
  • David Pagnotta: The Blue Jackets have been busy. They met with Nathan Horton, David Clarkson and others.
  • Will DePaoli: The Red Wings interest in Jarome Iginla is just preliminary at this point as they are a finalist for Daniel Alfredsson.
  • Sam Carchidi via sulia: Carchidi thinks that the Flyers should pass on left winger Simon Gagne and go after Viktor Stalberg. Would be perfect on a line with Sean Couturier and Matt Read.
  • Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun: Five possible targets for the Jets: Clarke MacArthur, Damien Brunner, Viktor Stalberg, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Nathan Gerbe.
  • Ansar Khan: Free agent options for the Red Wings: Mikhail Grabovski, Stephen Weiss (primary target), Mike Ribeiro and Matt Cullen.
  • Frank Seravalli: Flyers may not want to trade defenseman Braydon Coburn, but he’s their best trade chip. Seravalli wonders if they’d have interest in Jaromir Jagr again. Will the Flyers be tempted with offer sheets for Alex Pietrangelo, Travis Hamonic or Jonathan Bernier?
  • Bob McKenzie: McKenzie wonders if there will be offer sheets. The salary cap going down and teams are not able to stash money in the minors, some teams may be vulnerable.
  • Darren Dreger: There is already talks about offer sheets from teams with cap space: Alex Pietrangelo, Zach Bogosian, Brian Little, Josh Baily, Adam Henrique and Travis Hamonic.
