Free Agent Hits I: Alfredsson, Grabovski, Morrow, Stewart, Roy, Cleary and Gagne

Darren Dreger: Daniel Alfredsson proposed 1 and 2 year deals to the Senators last week. David Pagnotta: Senators GM Bryan Murray said that negotiations never really started. Ian Mendes: GM Murray offered Alfredsson the promise that if they weren’t a contender, he could be traded to another team part way through the season. Bruce Garrioch: Murray told Alfredsson that they were trying to get Bobby Ryan, “Everything he wanted me to do, we did.” Darren Dreger: The Senators were comfortable going between $4 and $4.5 million for Alfredsson.

Chris Johnston: Mikhail Grabovski won’t head to the KHL at this time. Wants to remain in NHL.
