  • Mike Harrington: Sabres confirm that Patrick Kaleta’s hearing will be on Tuesday. He won’t play over the weekend.
  • John Vogl: Sabres Patrick Kaleta will be in big trouble with Brendan Shanahan as last time they had a meeting, Shanahan made it clear that Kaleta had to change. After Kaleta’s hit on Brad RichardsShanahan said: “Kaleta is in full control of this play and has ample opportunity to make a better decision.” Kaleta could have avoided Jack Johnson’s head, but he hit it anyways. Should expect a big suspension.
  • Mike Sunnucks of BizJournals: The NHL lost $112.7 million since November 2009 while operating the Coyotes, more than $28 million annually for four seasons.
