Injury Notes: Downie, Lecavalier, Bolland, Bozak, Schneider, Salvador, McGinn, Zajac and others
  • David Strehle: Flyers Steve Downie will be released from the hospital today. Out indefinitely with a concussion. Vincent Lecavalier is day-to-day with a facial contusion according to Paul Holmgren. Frank Seravalli: Downie left the arena two-plus hours on a stretcher after his fight with Aaron Volpatti. He asked Volpatti to stop during their fight. Renaud Lavoie: Lecavalier will play on Tuesday against the Hurricanes.
  • Chris Johnston: Maple Leafs Randy Carlyle said that Dave Bolland’s cut is similar to Erik Karlsson’s and was to have surgery last night. Brad Ziemer: Bolland left the arena on a stretcher. Dave Feschuk: Bolland was wearing Kevlar-type socks. They are cut resistant and not cut proof.
  • David Alter: The Leafs put Tyler Bozak on the LTIR. He won’t be able to return to the lineup until Nov. 21st.
  • Rich Chere: Devils Cory Schneider said he’s ready to play and is capable of starting tonight. Tom Gulitti: Devils coach Peter DeBoer said it was “possible” that Schneider could start on today. Rich Chere: Martin Brodeur said he won’t be playing against Wild.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Peter DeBoer said that Bryce Salvador (stress fracture in his foot) has yet to start skating.
  • Colorado Avalanche: Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said that Jamie McGinn (knee) will  play on Wednesday. Added that McGinn needs a few practices.
  • Sarah McLellan: Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said that Rostislav Klesla could return next week.
  • Joe Yerdon: Devils Travis Zajac missed last night’s game with an ankle injury.
  • Nashville Predators: Predators Mike Fisher left last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
  • Jon Rosen: Kings Jarret Stoll left last night’s game with an injury.
  • Adrian Dater: Avalanche’s Alex Tanguay will have an MRI today or tomorrow on his knee. It could be bad.
