Injury Notes: Jovanovski, Laich, Larsson, Martin, Lupul, Malone and Stastny
  • George Richards of the Miami Herald: Panthers Ed Jovanovski (major hip surgery) continues to workout with the team, but the process is slow.

“I’m still in the frame of mind that I’m getting stronger, more comfortable in making that next step,” Jovanovski said Tuesday. “There’s still no date. I think at this point, a lot of it comes down to you being your own doctor of sorts. I’m taking the information from doctors and I know I don’t feel quite ready.”

  • Katie Carrera: Capitals Brooks Laich didn’t practice yesterday morning as they are being careful with a lower-body injury. (He did play against the Senators)
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Adam Larsson is out with a lower-body injury.
  • Seth Rorabaugh: Penguins Paul Martin will be out four to six weeks with a fractured tibia.
  • Chris Johston: Maple Leafs Joffrey Lupul will be out for two weeks according to coach Randy Carlyle.
  • Erik Erlendsson: Lightning’s Ryan Malone may be out longer than expected. He may have a bone chip in his ankle. Damian Cristodero: Malone has been put on the IR.
