Injury Notes: Orpik, Eriksson, Staal, Petry, Timonen, Horton, Beauchemin, Hejda, Zidlicky and Lupul
  • Pittsburgh Penguins: Brooks Orpik was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital and was alert and conscious. Orpik left the hospital and is traveling back to the Pittsburgh with the team. Dan Bylsma: “I think he was out on the ice for a period of time, so I think that means he’s got a concussion, for sure.” … “He went through a battery of tests at the hospital for various things.”
  • Katie Strang: With Rangers Marc Staal leaving last night’s game is concerning due to the significant time he’s missed with a concussion and eye injury over the past two seasons.
  • Jim Matheson: Oilers Jeff Petry left last night’s game after taking blow to the head.
  • Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: Flyers Kimmo Timonen is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. He left after taking a cross check from Jamie Benn.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Francois Beauchemin is progressing and is hoping to return on December 15th.
  • Adrian Dater: Avs Jan Hejda will miss 10-14 days with a right knee strain.
  • Brett Cyrgalis: Devils Marek Zidlicky was out with a lower-body injury.
