Injury Notes: Wild, Hurricanes, Luongo, Cammalleri, Bertuzzi, Rome and Nabokov
  • Kent Youngblood of the Star Tribune: As the pain from his ankle surgery is lessening, Wild’s Mikko Koivu is hoping to return to action before the Olympic break. Goalie Josh Harding skated on Saturday with the goalie coach Bob Mason. There is no timetable on when Zach Parise will return to practice. He’s missed the past eight games. There is hope that he can begin skating next week.
  • Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer: Hurricanes Eric Staal was back practicing on Sunday. Jiri Tlusty should return tonight. Riley Nash appears to be ready to return. Zach Boychuk and Brett Sutter have been sent to the AHL.
  • Vancouver Canucks: Roberto Luongo on his injury progress: “I’m going on the road trip, but I don’t know when I’ll be playing yet.”
  • Randy Sportak: Flames Mike Cammalleri may have suffered an upper-body injury in last night’s game.
  • Helene St. James: Red Wings Todd Bertuzzi suffered a lower-body injury last night.
  • Mark Stepneski: Stars defenseman Aaron Rome missed last night’s game with an injury.
  • Arthur Staple: Islanders Evgeni Nabokov skated yesterday morning, the first time since suffering his injury.
