Afternoon Hits: Oilers-Panthers trade, Klesla, Emmerton, Steen, Clarkson, Bolland, Hamonic and Lines
  • Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers trade forwards Ryan Martindale and Derek Nesbitt to the Panthers for forwards Steve Pinizzotto and Jack Combs.
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings Corey Emmerton played in his 10th game and will now need to go through waivers if he’s sent back to the AHL.
  • Dan Rosen: The Blues have activated Alex Steen from the IR and he’ll be in the lineup tomorrow.
  • Terry Koshan: The Maple Leafs put Frazer McLaren on the IR. The Leafs also put David Clarkson on the IR. Paul Hendrick: Clarkson is out a week after having a bursa procedure on his elbow.
  • David Alter: Maple Leafs Dave Bolland skated for just under 30 minutes before practice.
  • Arthur Staple: Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic (upper-body) returned to Long Island for further evaluation.
