Injury Notes: Kane, Moen, Parise, Pitkanen, McQuaid, Sbisa, Voracek, Hanzel, Parenteau and Howard
  • Paul Friesen: Jets coach Paul Maurice said that Evander Kane will return to the lineup today, and will be on a line with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. Has another line mind for Kane too.
  • Michael Russo: There is a chance that Wild’s Zach Parise returns to the lineup on Thursday.
  • Chris Nichols: Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said that Joni Pitkanen can “a little bit of weight” on his injured foot. Rutherford thinks that Pitkanen hopes that he has a chance to play next year.
  • Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe: Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid missed yesterday’s game with a leg injury. They don’t play again until Saturday. Defenseman Dougie Hamilton (concussion) could return on Saturday.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Luca Sbisa (hand) practiced yesterday and was paired with Francois Beauchemin.
  • Frank Seravalli: Flyers Jakub Voracek has an upper-body injury and will be evaluated when they return to Philadelphia.
  • Chris Johnston: Coyotes Martin Hanzal is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
  • Adrian Dater via Sulia: Avs P.A. Parenteau will return to the lineup tonight on a line with Marc-Andre Cliche and Patrick Bordeleau. Alex Tanguay is getting close to returning.
  • Bub Duff: Red Wings Jimmy Howard left last night’s game with a lower-body injury. Ansar Khan: Coach Mike Babcock said that Howard injured the same knee in December and is not sure of the extent of the injury. GM Ken Holland said that Howard’s injury is minor and he’ll be day-to-day. Babcock said that he isn’t sure if Jonas Gustavsson will be ready to play on Wednesday.
  • Wes Gilbertson: Flames winger Paul Byron left last night’s game after only one shift in the second period after he blocked a shot.
