VIDEO: SportsNet HC Trade Tracker: Capitals Michal Neuvirth

Hockey Central panel discusses whether the Washington Capitals will trade Michal Neuvirth by the trade deadline. The 25-year old Neuvirth carries a $2.5 million salary cap hit through next season. Brian Lawton and Billy Jaffe think they need to move Neuvirth.

Lawton thinks possible destinations are: Sabres, Red Wings and Predators. Jaffe thinks possible destinations are: Sabres, Panthers and Islanders.

    neuvirth to the wings is the most unlikely scenario i’ve ever heard these guys come up with. nothing about that makes sense. the guy carries 2.5m contract. the wings can’t take on more than 500k in salary. are the wings gonna trade gustavsson for him??? that makes no sense for either team, and obviously the wings wouldn’t dress 3 goalies at $9.5m total salary. since the wings need a top 6 fwd and top 4 d, it becomes even more unlikely.

    I think he stays put, maybe Florida, but whats the point at the deadline? Panthers won’t be contending this year. I see this as a more offseason move.

    what garbage analysis. Nashville?! THEY LITERALLY JUST PICKED UP DUBNYK. They have 3 goalies + Rinne, and you think they will pick up another??!!!!! This is part of why Sportsnet is just steamy garbage
