Morning Rumors IV: Rangers Put In Offer For St. Louis, Callahan Gap Closing, Rental Market High/Low

  • John Shannon: The Rangers have submitted an offer to the Lightning for Martin St. Louis.
  • Nick Kypreos: The Lightning’s asking price remains high. There is a possibility that he finishes the year in Tampa and they revisit at the draft.
  • Nick Cotsonika: “If I were the Rangers, I would make a serious offer for St. Louis. If I were the Lightning, I wouldn’t trade him unless it were huge.”
  • Pierre LeBrun: The gap is closing between Ryan Callahan and the Rangers. Rangers need to decide what they are going to do, sign or trade.
  • Jonathan Willis: Oilers GM Craig MacTavish said the price for rentals is too low. Coyotes GM Don Maloney says they are too high.
