Injury Notes: Datsyuk, Price, Giguere, McQuaid, Hertl, Stuart and Sobotka

  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings GM Ken Holland said that Pavel Datsyuk will be shut down for three weeks.
  • John Lu: Canadiens Carey Price is progressing with his injury and “is not far.” The Devan Dubnyk trade is not insurance for his recovery.
  • Adrian Dater: (Re: Reto Berra trade) The Avalanche wanted some goalie insurance if J.S. Giguere’s back is not able to hold up.
  • Boston Bruins:  Adam McQuaid will be “shut down” for two to three weeks. Will rest over continuing his rehab.
  • David Pollak: There is no injury update on Sharks Tomas Hertl and Brad Stuart.
  • Lou Korac: Blues Vladimir Sobotka: “I’m trying to push every day a little more & see how it goes. First two days, I skated for 15-20 minutes. Today I skated for 40.”

Can you believe what Colorado has given up for its current Goaltenders?!

A first for Varlamov (Forsberg) and a second of Berra. Is that is more that Tampa Bay and 3 second round picks, a minor leaguer and waiver bait for Lindback and Bishop?

I_am, your comment is incoherent. Please rewrite it, I’m curious to know what you mean.

Sorry, I was a little distracted this morning. You are right, I did a quick look to remind myself and saw “conditional pick” and ignored it. It was a 1st in 2012 and a 2nd in either 2012 (Boston’s) or 2013 (Colorado’s). I was trying to think of another team that traded for BOTH its goalies and came up with Tampa as a comparison.
    Col: 1st, 2nd, 2nd
    TB: 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, junk.
Yeah they paid a premium and I think TB has better goaltending.
