Morning Hits: Lucic, Iginla’s Bonuses, Alfredsson, Beleskey, Galchenyuk, Coyle, Ducks and Moulson
  • Bob McKenzie: If the Ducks beat the Kings, the Western Conference Final will open in Anaheim. If the Kings beat the Ducks, the series will start in Chicago.
  • Darren Dreger: Canadiens Dale Weise said that Bruins Milan Lucic threatened him during handshakes after the game. Lucic also said something threatening to Alexei Emelin as well.
  • CapGeek: The Bruins will be hit with an estimated $4.5 million bonus overage penalty next season. $3.7 million may come from Jarome Iginla’s bonuses. He didn’t collect $250,000 for not making the Stanley Cup Final, and another $250,000 for not making the third round. Torey Krug, Dougie Hamilton and some others will also collect bonuses that will come off the Bruins cap next year. Other teams will have bonus overage penalties, but the Bruins was the biggest. More will be known late next month.
  • CapGeek: Red Wings Daniel Alfredsson hit all of his bonuses and will get the full $2 million. The Wings were a cap team and most will carry over.
  • Pierre LeBrun: Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said that Matt Beleskey won’t be available for Game 7.
  • John Lu: Canadiens Alex Galchenyuk skated yesterday morning in a non-contact jersey. He could be able to return in the third round.
  • Michael Russo: Wild’s Charlie Coyle was playing with two separated shoulders.
  • Thomas Drance: It would cost the Ducks $1.87 million to go with the goaltending tandem of John Gibson and Frederik Andersen next season.
  • Jim Matheson: The Matt Moulson trade didn’t blow up in the Wild’s face, but he didn’t bring them much. He won’t be back with them.
  • Igor Eronko: Oilers Denis Grebeshkov signed a one year deal with Vityaz of the KHL.
