NHL Rumors VIII: Red Wings, Myers, Oilers, Kesler, Brodeur, Leafs, Sabres and Burmistrov
  • Joe Yerdon: Dreger saying on the radio that Red Wings have major interest in Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers. That would be a way to get their first round pick.
  • David Burstyn: It is possible that the Oilers go off the board if Aaron Ekblad is gone.
  • Billy Jaffe: Told the price for Ryan Kesler is too much right now. Canucks asking for the moon and stars.
  • Hope Smoke: John Shannon said on the Fan 590 that the Ducks and Canucks had agreed to a trade at the deadline for Kesler, but Kesler’s family nixed it.
  • Pierre LeBrun: Martin Brodeur’s camp spoke with six teams so far. Should pick up after the draft.
  • Hope Smoke: John Shannon: “a good chance if the deal is done for 1st overall Ekblad isn’t taken. Buff won’t take Ekblad. Will Edm? They like Draisaitl”
  • Kevin McGran: Maple Leafs GM Dave Nonis: “There’s been dialogue but we haven’t made any traction … I would expect we’re going to stay at 8”
  • John Vogl: Sabres GM Tim Murray needs the trade logjam to break soon: “I have a couple of really complicated ideas, so I don’t know if I can execute them in an hour”
  • Brian Lawton: Told several teams are asking the Jets about Alexander Burmistrov. A good chance that the Jets trade him before July 1st.
