NHL Trade: Stars Acquire Jason Spezza From Senators

Jason Spezza

The Ottawa Senators have traded center Jason Spezza and Ludvig Karlsson to the Dallas Stars for Alex Chaisson, Alex Guptill, Nicholas Paul and a 2015 2nd round pick.

Stars are looking pretty good now. Good goaltending, adequate defense and strong top 6.

Too much given up by the stars. 3 players, including Chaisson, and a 2nd for a center in his 30s that didn’t want to be in Ottawa anyway (should have lowered the price) and only has a year left on his contract.

You won’t be saying that when spezz and hemsky are tearing it up for the stars next year.

In my opinion both the Sens and the Stars will be better teams as a result of this trade. Stars will score more goals, especially as they have reunited Hemsky with Spezza, but Ottawa will go back to being the pesky Sens and fight for every point. It should be a fun season with all the movement league wide this year.
