- Updated: August 5, 2014
The Penguins re-signed RFA center Brandon Sutter to a two year deal worth $6.6 million. Sutter would be an UFA at the end of the deal.
- Will DePaoli: The Penguins had two offers for Sutter: one year at $2.85 million and two years at $3.3 million per year.
- Will DePaoli: Sutter’s deal doesn’t include a no-trade clause. GM Jim Rutherford likes him, but there is no guarantee that he’s with the Penguins when his deal expires.
- Josh Yohe: The Penguins are around $900,000 below the salary cap. They could offer someone a tryout, but are likely done for the summer.
