  • Ken Wiebe: Not much to update on Jets Evander Kane. He’ll visit another doctor today. Jets calling it a lower-body injury, but replays shows it looks like a right knee issue.
  • NY Rangers: Rangers Dan Boyle will be out for four to six weeks after breaking his hand.
  • Lou Korac: Blues Paul Stastny said his quad is sore from the knee from Rangers Dan Girardi. Looked worse than the end result.
  • Randy Miller of NJ.com: The Flyers will be without defenseman Braydon Coburn due to a lower-body injury. Coburn is on crutches after blocking a slap shot from Bruins defenseman Torey Krug. It’s not yet known if he’ll require surgery.

“I don’t have the final prognosis or diagnosis,” Hextall said. “He’s gotta see the doctor. He’s gotta see a specialist. He’ll see a doctor tonight. I don’t know if anything will come out of that.”

  • Boston Bruins: Patrice Bergeron left the game in the second period to visit the ‘quiet room’ after being hit into the boards. He returned to the game.

“No, I didn’t feel that ,” Bergeron said postgame, from the visiting team locker room at Joe Louis Arena. “It’s one of those protocols that you have to respect, and I had to go to the quiet room, and it takes forever to go through that test, so it took a little bit of time but I was fine the whole time.”

  • Andy Strickland: Islanders Michael Grabner had sports hernia surgery and will be out four to six weeks.
  • Wes Gilbertson: Flames Sam Bennett will be out for four to six months after shoulder surgery.
  • Mark Lazerus: Blackhawks Kris Versteeg will be out three weeks with a lower-body injury.
  • Erik Erlendsson: Lightning’s Jonathan Drouin did some shooting yesterday, though it didn’t look like he was shooting at 100 percent.
  • Rob Longley: Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle on Cody Franson’s availability for Saturday: “We’re looking at that as a possibility.”
  • Lou Korac: Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said that Carl Gunnarsson will see a specialist on Monday, and if things go well, he’ll be cleared to start playing. Jeremy Rutherford: Gunnarsson has been cleared for contact.
  • Andrew Gross: Rangers Kevin Hayes (shoulder) is eligible to come off the non-roster IR at anytime. He’s expected to be cleared today.
