Injuries: Wild, Ducks, Jackets, Lightning, Bruins and Blackhawks
  • Michael Russo of the Star Tribune: Jonas Brodin and Marco Scandella are feared to have the mumps. Keith Ballard had missed eight games and has said that he had the mumps. Christian Frolin missed five games with similar symptoms. Several Blues and Ducks players have missed time with the mumps. Symptoms usually appear 16-18 days after infection and is usually spread through coughing, sneezing and touching surfaces.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Francois Beauchemin is at home with the mumps, he had to go to a nearby hospital for IV fluids.
  • Eric Stephens: Ducks Corey Perry skated on his own yesterday, but playing this weekend seems unlikely. Their upcoming road road trip is likely iffy for now.
  • Eric Stephens: The Ducks were getting their first MMR vaccinations (for mumps) yesterday.

  • Erik Erlendsson: Lightning coach Ondrej Palat will be a game-time decision tomorrow with his lower-body injury. Brett Connoly is getting close, but won’t be ready tomorrow.
  • Stephen Lorenzo: There is no medical update on Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh. He hasn’t started skating yet.
  • Joe McDonald: Bruins David Krejci skated yesterday for the first time since last Thursday’s.
  • Chad Graff: Wild’s Zach Parise is possible for Sunday against the Jets.
  • Chris Kuc: Blackhawks Daniel Carcillo will return to the lineup on Sunday against the Stars.
