  • Nashville Predators: James Neal practiced yesterday but remains on the IR with a lower-body injury. He skated on the second line with Mike Fisher and Colin Wilson. Neal has missed the last five games.
  • Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta is expected to miss the rest of the season with his shoulder injury. It’s not official, but source saying the rehab isn’t going as well as hoped. He could undergo an operation once it’s determined for sure that his season is over. Jason Mackey: Source saying that Maatta wants a third opinion in hope that he’s able to return this season.
  • Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: Flyers Braydon Coburn left last night’s game after taking a shot from Nikita Kucherov off of his left foot. It is the same foot he broke during their first game of the season. He will be re-evaluated today.
  • Jon Rosen: Kings Tanner Pearson’s fractured left fibula will require surgery later this week. There is no timetable for his return.
  • Joe Smith: Both Victor Hedman and Tyler Johnson left last night’s game with lower-body injuries. Coach Jon Cooper didn’t have an update but said there is a good chance they won’t play tonight.
  • Jonas Siegel: Maple Leafs Leo Komarov left last night’s game with a shoulder injury. Peter Horachek said he was held out as a precaution.
  • Ben Kuzma: Canucks Dan Hamhuis won’t play tonight but is “hopeful” to play at some point on their road trip.
  • Ted Kulfan: Red Wings coach Mike Babcock didn’t have an update on Jimmy Howard’s ultrasound.
  • Bob McManaman: Coyotes Zybnek Michalek could return tonight. They are not sure is Martin Hanzal will be ready.
  • ESPN: Sabres Cody McCormick has been released from hospital after been treated for a blood clot in his leg. There is no timetable for his return.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Damon Severson is still in a walking boot for his fractured ankle.
