Injuries: Okposo, Bobrovsky, Bieksa, Phaneuf, Howard and lots more
  • Arthur Staple: Islanders winger Kyle Okposo will be out six to eight weeks with an upper-body injury.
  • Blue Jackets: The Blue Jackets put Sergei Bobrovsky on the IR retroactive to Jan. 21st. Bobrovsky injured his groin and will be out for four to six weeks.
  • Dan Murphy: Canucks Kevin Bieksa had surgery on his hand and is expected to be out for six-to-eight weeks.
  • Toronto Maple Leafs: Dion Phaneuf is week-to-week with an upper-body injury according to head coach Peter Horachek. Dave Feschuk: Phaneuf missed Leafs practice with a hand injury. Jonas Siegel: Phaneuf suffered the injury versus the Senators before the break. He tried to play through it. Darren Dreger: It is believed that Phaneuf hurt his hand in the fight with Eric Staal, and it was further injured against the Senators. It is not believed to be a structural injury.
  • Toronto Maple Leafs: Leo Komarov is expected to return on Wednesday. Joffrey Lupul and Peter Holland are listed as day-to-day.
  • George Sipple: Sounding like Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard is still a couple weeks away from returning.
  • George Sipple: Red Wings Tomas Jurco (back) should be able to return soon. They will see how he feels after the morning skate.
  • Bryan Burns: Lightning’s Tyler Johnson will be a game time decision against the Hurricanes.
  • Randy Miller: Flyers Nicklas Grossmann’s shoulder injury is progressing well. Thursday could be a possibility.
  • Buffalo Sabres: Michal Neuvirth is out with a lower-body injury. Matt Hackett has been recalled.
  • Mark Lazerus: Blackhawks Kris Versteeg won’t play on their upcoming road trip. Six games – LA, ANA, SJ, MIN, WPG and STL.
  • Jon Rosen: Kings coach Darryl Sutter on Tyler Toffoli returning soon:  “We’ll see how he feels tomorrow, and see how his pace is and how he feels and go from there.”
  • Ken Warren: Senators Marc Methot missed practice yesterday with the flu/food poisoning.
  • Harvey Fialkov: Panthers Shawn Thornton is not ready yet, but is getting close.
  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals Aaron Volpatti is still ‘day-to-day.’ He’s healthy and on the LTIR. Coach Barry Trotz: “I’ve got to get him in at some point here.”
  • Mark Stepneski: Stars Erik Cole is out with an upper-body injury, but is doing better than they originally expected.
