The Edmonton Oilers traded defenseman Jeff Petry to the Montreal Canadiens for 2015 2nd round pick and a conditional 2015 5th round pick.
Elliotte Friedman: If the Canadiens win one round, the the 5th round pick becomes a 4th. If the Canadiens win two rounds, the pick becomes a 3rd.
The 27-year old Petry was drafted 45th overall in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft by the Oilers. The pending UFA carries a $3.075 million salary cap hit.
