Injuries: Kane, Varlamov, Del Zotto, Robidas, Helm, Ducks and Tanev
  • Scott Powers of ESPN Chicago:  Blackhawks Patrick Kane won’t be back this season unless they are able to get a couple rounds deep into the playoffs.

“I think we’re still a little bit of time left in the season here. Once we get to playoffs, we’ll see what happens. I’ll worry about what I have to worry about, and I’m sure the team will be fine.”

Kane had surgery on Feb. 25th and is expected to be out for 12-weeks.

  • Philadelphia Flyers: Michael Del Zotto will be out for seven to 10 days with an upper-body injury.
  • Ansar Khan of MLive: Red Wings Darren Helm has been skating on his own, but not practicing with the team yet. It appears that the earliest he could return is this weekend.
  • Ansar Khan of MLive: The Red Wings recalled Petr Mrazek after Jonas Gustavsson was injured in the second period after he was ran into by Bruins Milan Lucic. The Red Wings haven’t said what his injury is.
  • Eric Stephens: Injured Ducks – James Wisniewsky, Sami Vatanen, Matt Beleskey and Korbinian Holzer are all travelling with the team to Vancouver.
  • Elliott Pap: Canucks Chris Tanev on his concussion: “It’s obviously tough. You feel good for a few days and then you don’t feel good.” Tanev on playing tonight: “We’re going to see how it goes here. I don’t know. I can’t say for sure.”
