Injuries: Oilers, Kings, Sharks, Bruins Ducks and Jets

On the Oilers …

  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Connor McDavid will be out indefinitely with a broken left clavicle. He was going to have a plate and screws inserted to help with the healing according to GM Peter Chiarelli.

“We’re not talking week to week, we’re talking months,” Chiarelli said Wednesday.

“No definitive time frame, but plural months.”

On the Kings …

  • NHL.com: Anze Kopitar was taking part in off-ice workouts with teammates yesterday. Kopitar was hit in the head by Blues winger Ryan Reaves, who was fined $3,024.19 for the incident.

“He’s good,” Kings coach Darryl Sutter told L.A. Kings Insider on Wednesday. “Same as last night. Worked out with the players.”

  • Lisa Dillman of the LA Times: Kings coach Darryl Sutter said in an email yesterday that Kopitar is day-to-day. They will see how he is feeling this morning before they decide on if he plays tonight or not.

On the Sharks …

  • Paul Gackle of the San Jose Mercury News: Logan Couture underwent surgery for his fractured right fibula on Oct. 17th. He’s off of crutches and recently walked without a boot. His initial recovery was four to six weeks, but he is not putting a timetable on it.

“I’m not the one who put the original time frame on; that’s not up to me to decide,” he said. “What I’m going to do is I’m going to wait until I feel totally comfortable skating. I haven’t even put my foot in a skate to this point. I’ve gotten staples out. I’ve been able to walk without a boot on. It’s 18 days since surgery right now, and who knows, it could be a little bit, it could be a while.”

On the Blues …

  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Brian Elliott took a blow to the head last night and he’ll be re-evaluated today.
  • Steve Ott suffered an injury to his shoulder or arm in the second period and didn’t return to the game. Coach Ken Hitchcock said there would be an updated at some point today.

On the Ducks …

  • Eric Stephens: The Ducks had activated Josh Manson (upper-body) off the IR before yesterday’s game, but he didn’t play.

On the Jets …
