On the Lightning …

  • Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: All of Tyler Johnson (upper-body), Jonathan Drouin (undisclosed) and Cedric Paquette (upper-body) practiced in regular jersey’s yesterday.

    “I feel good, getting better,” Johnson said. “It’s up to them.”

    Coach Jon Cooper wouldn’t give an update on the trio, only saying they are all day-to-day. Drouin and Paquette have been cleared for contact, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be ready to go tonight.

On the Blue Jackets …

  • Rob Mixer of BlueJackets.com: One, or both of Brandon Dubinsky and Alexander Wennberg could return to the lineup tonight.

    “I’m not sure what happens tomorrow, but (Dubinsky) practiced well the last couple of days,” Tortorella said. “We’ll make that decision tomorrow. They’re both very close…we’ll come into the skate tomorrow and see where it goes.”

    Fedor Tyutin and Rene Bourque won’t travel with the team. Tyutin hasn’t practiced since he left Friday’s game with an upper-body injury. Bourque is out with an upper-body injury.

On the Oilers …

  • Chris Wescott of EdmontonOilers.com: Defenseman Justin Schultz is getting close to returning to the lineup, but it won’t be today.

    “Doing contact. Today was the first time I really did any of that and felt pretty good,” said Schultz. “As long as I feel good tomorrow and keep improving, I’ll be ready to go soon.”

On the Devils …

  • Tom Gulitti of The Record: Though it’s not official, Patrik Elias could make his season debut tonight against the Blue Jackets.

    “I think I’m in by the look of it,” Elias said after practicing today at left wing on a line with Jacob Josefson and Stefan Matteau.

    If he’s not in today, he’ll be back on Friday.

    “We’ll discuss that a little bit later today, but there’s a good chance it’s either going to be tomorrow or Friday (vs. Montreal),” Hynes said.

  • Tom Gulitti: David Schlemko missed practice yesterday with an lower-body injury. He missed Saturday’s game.

On the Canadiens …

  • Arpon Basu: Brendan Gallagher will be out six weeks. Torrey Mitchell is out seven to 10 days.

On the Sabres …

  • Buffalo Sabres: Evander Kane is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Zach Bogosian was given a maintenance day. Zemgus Girgensons will be re-evaluated today.

On the Coyotes …

  • Craig Morgan: Mike Smith and Nicklas Grossmann will both be re-evaluated this morning. Smith is saying that he’s available.

On the Hurricanes …

  • Carolina Hurricanes: Nathan Gerbe was put on the IR and is expected to be out for four to six weeks.

On the Maple Leafs …

  • David Alter: There is no update or timetable for James Reimer, as he left practice early with an undisclosed issue.
  • Paul Hendrick: Roman Polak missed practice yesterday. He took a shot of his foot on Monday.

  • David Isaac: Sam Gagner has a cut near his left eye and will have it looked at again today. Flyers will update after.
