On the Los Angeles Kings …

  • Dennis Bernstein: Was told last night that the Los Angeles Kings and Anze Kopitar have ironed out the no-trade/no-movement clause part of the contract extension.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

  • Dennis Bernstein: Would likely take three assets to trade for Dustin Byfuglien – a roster player, draft pick and a prospect.

On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

  • Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Reports are that forward Kerby Rychel asked for trade before the season started, but the Blue Jackets have shown no interest in trading him. The New York Rangers, Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings have all shown interest.

On the Arizona Coyotes …

  • Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: Shane Doan’s four-year, $21.2 million contract is over at the end of this season, he plans on playing next year, but is not worrying about that now.

“Obviously, I’m enjoying this right now and this run and the fact that the puck’s going in the net,” he said. “It feels like you can contribute, and that’s a big part of it. Then there’s a big part of your family and everything that’s going on with my family and everything that’s happening with them, too. It’ll be a decision that when we talk about as a group, all six of us will make a decision.”

Both Doan and the Coyotes agreed this past offseason to hold off on any contract talks until the season played out.

Scouting the Avs-Flames …

  • Adrian Dater: Scouting the Avalanche and Flames on Saturday where the Canadiens and Lightning.

On the Washington Capitals …

  • Chuck Gormley of CSN Mid Atlantic: Marcus Johansson was drafted by the Capitals as a centerman, but has played on the wing the past three years. He’s been filling in at center on the third line after Jay Beagle was lost due to an injury. Johansson is a pending restricted free agent, and his play in the second half of the season could determine if he’s in the Capitals long-term plans.
