Injuries: Staal, Oilers, Wilson, Gunnarsson, Ducks and More
  • Chip Alexander: Hurricanes Eric Staal does not have a concussion, it’s an upper-body injury.
  • Mike Chambers: Avs Ryan Wilson has a possible concussion after taking a puck to the head.
  • Jeremy Rutherford: Blues Carl Gunnarsson was cleared by a specialist to return to full practicing. He rejoined the team last night and will practice today. When he gets back into the lineup has yet to be determined.
  • Lance Pugmire: Ducks Patrick Maroon left yesterday’s game with a lower-body injury. His lower leg was immobilized and they are not comment on the injury yet.
  • Lance Pugmire of the LA Times: Ducks Dany Heatley has been skating and could return on Oct. 26th against the Sharks. Kyle Palmieri (ankle) is not skating yet. Bryan Allen, who has a lower-body injury, is traveling with the team.
  • Mark Stepneski: Stars Valeri Nichushkin left yesterday’s practice early. He’s been bothered by with a groin/hip flexor issue.
  • Randy Miller: Flyers Braydon Coburn is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He could play on Saturday in Dallas.
  • Alex Prewitt: Capitals coach Barry Trotz said that Tom Wilson isn’t close to returning, and they are deciding on whether he’ll start his rehab with Hershey of the AHL or with the Capitals.
  • Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets defenseman Ryan Murray took his first full practice with contact yesterday. Rob Mixer: There is no timetable for Murray’s return, they will be patient with him.
  • Scott Powers: Blackhawks Michal Rozsival practiced yesterday.
  • Erik Erlendsson: If Lightning’s Jonathan Drouin gets clearance, this weekend in Vancouver could be his first game.
