On the Columbus Blue Jackets …

  • Aaron Portzline: Sergei Bobrovsky said that he aggravated the groin injury that has kept him out of the Blue Jackets lineup since December 10th.
  • Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch: The Blue Jackets activated Sergei Bobrovsky from the IR last Wednesday, but put him back on the IR retroactive to Thursday after he re-aggravated the groin injury that caused him to miss 11 games. Coach John Tortorella said that he’s day-to-day. The Blue Jackets will be without Matt Calvert for a month with a sprained knee.
  • Aaron Portzline: Looking like goalie Curtis McElhinney got his left knee caught underneath him as he went down. Not looking good.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

  • Anaheim Ducks: Defenseman Cam Fowler will be out four to six weeks from when he originally sprained his knee.

On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

  • Jonathan Bombulie: The Penguins have activated Marc-Andre Fleury from the IR and sent Matt Murray back to the AHL.

On the Calgary Flames …

  • Calgary Flames: Jiri Hudler left last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
  • Kristen Odland: Coach Bob Hartley said that Hudler had “lower body problems” at the beginning of game and  “It didn’t get better. We’ll treat him (Sunday) and see him Monday.”

On the New York Islanders …

  • Arthur Staple of Newsday: Defenseman Johnny Boychuck was put on the IR with a left shoulder injury.

    “It’s going to be a little while here,” coach Jack Capuano told Newsday on Friday.

  • Carolina Hurricanes: Forward Phil Di Giuseppe left last night’s game with an upper-body injury.

  • Brian Compton: Cal Clutterbuck left last night’s game with an upper-body injury.
