Maple Leafs acquire Aaron Voros from Ducks for Draft Pick

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired Aaron Voros from the Anaheim Ducks for a conditional 7th round draft pick.

Voros was just on waivers, and send to the Syracuse of the AHL. He’ll be joining the Marlies.

James Mirtle via twitter: Leafs only give the 7th round pick if he re-signs, nothing goes to Anaheim if he doesn’t.

Bogosian rumored to Edmonton … Possible Penguins targets … Bruins looking for D … Brodeur day-to-day … Emery Clears

  • Gene Principe via twitter: Rumored talk of Zach Bogosian possibly heading to Edmonton, 2 Thrashers scouts drove to Nashville in a snowstorm to see the Oilers play. Ben Wright via twitter: Wright says to stop this Ales Hemsky to Atlanta talk, not going to happen, he’s extremely confident it’s not happening.
  • Darren Dreger of TSN: The Penguins could be looking for a top 6 forward, preferably a center with Malkin don’t for the year, and questions surrounding Crosby. Cap number is not an issue, and they could look at players like Stephen Weiss or Devin Setoguchi as examples. It might take Alex Goligoski in a deal to get Setoguchi. Jason Arnott could draw some interest. The Bruins are still interested in Tomas Kaberle but it’s hard to see them paying a premium to the Leafs. Chiarelli could look at Eric Brewer, Chris Phillips, Joe Corvo and Joni Pitkanen. With the uncertainty of Dallas ownership it doesn’t look like they’ll get a deal done before the trade deadline, but it’s unlikely Brad Richards will get moved. But there is the small possibility that Dallas could look to move him, and he might consider, especially if an extension was in place.

Goalie notes for Flyers and Tampa … Lecavalier back by Christmas … Sturm’s physical set for today … Nabokov leaves SKA

  • Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: Matt Walker is a strong candidate to be removed from the Flyers 23 man roster once Michael Leighton is ready to come off LTIR, which should be this week. The Flyers will go with 3 goalies for a short time. By putting Walker or Oskars Bartulis on waivers, they would be back under the salary cap
  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: With the way Tampa’s goaltending has struggled, don’t be surprised if they go after Dwayne Roloson at the trade deadline. Tomas Vokoun may be better, but he’s expensive and they play in the same division, they could go after him after July 1st.
  • Tampa Tribune: Vincent Lecavalier could start practicing with the Lightning this week and could be in the lineup around Christmas time.
  • Rich Hammond of LA Kings Insider: Marco Sturm will have his physical at 10 this morning, and if he passes he could join the team on their road trip, though when he joins the lineup is not known.
  • Adrian Dater of the Denver Post: Avalanche defenseman Kyle Quincey suffered a left shoulder injury Saturday night, more should be known today. Milan Hejduk is day-to-day with a groin injury and isn’t expected to miss much action.
  • Allen Panzeri of the Ottawa Citizen: Pascal Leclaire suffered a lower body injury Friday night and didn’t practice yesterday. The Senators have recalled Robin Lehner in case Leclaire is unable to serve as their backup.
  • Curtis Zupke of the OC Register: Aaron Voros will be out 3-4 weeks with a fractured orbital bone, an injury he suffered in a fight last week. It won’t require surgery.
