In an odd move in my opinion, Bob Gainey will be stepping down as GM of the Montreal Canadiens, a press conference will take place at 4 pm. Assistant GM, Pierre Gauthier will be taking over in an interim basis.

Gainey has been the GM of the Canadiens since 2003.

What I find odd about this, is that the Canadiens are sitting 6th in the Eastern Conference. They are not struggling, 5-3-2 in their last 10. There must be some personal reasons behind this
