- Ian Mendes: Neither of Jason Spezza and Erik Karlsson skated yesterday. A scheduled day off for Karlsson and Spezza worked out off-ice.
- Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Injured Penguins Paul Martin, Sidney Crosby and James Neal all skated before practice yesterday. Neal has been symptom free since Monday.
- Mark Masters: Capitals coach Adam Oates on Brooks Laich: “We want him to be pain free before he goes on the ice again so he’s working as hard as he can to become pain free.” At the moment, they are not considering surgery for Laich’s groin. There is no timetable for his return.
- Ken Wiebe: Jets coach Claude Noel said that Nik Antropov (lower-body) skated for the first time since suffering his injury. He’s day-to-day and could return this week.
- Jeremy Rutherford: Blues TJ Oshie has a stress fracture and had surgery yesterday. Timetable is unknown. Andy Strickland: Was told that a screw may have been needed to fix Oshie’s ankle. Jeremy Rutherford: Oshie is week-to-week.
- Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets center Artem Anisimov (concussion) is traveling with the team. He won’t play on Wednesday or Thursday, but hasn’t been ruled out for any games beyond that.
- B.D. Gallof: Islanders Casey Cizikas left last night’s game with an upper-body injury.
- Flyers.NHL.com: Flyers Bruno Gervais had surgery last Thursday to repair a torn stomach muscle.
- Joe Haggerty: Bruins Brad Marchand has been “cleared for contact.” Patrice Bergeron’s return tonight is “highly probable.”

- Bob McKenzie via twitter: The Penguins claimed Zach Boychuk off waivers from the Hurricanes.
- Bob McKenzie via twitter: The Maple Leafs claimed Frazer McLaren off waivers from the Sharks.
- Matias Strozyk via twitter: Radek Dvorak signed with Davos in Switzerland.
- Arthur Staple via twitter: Eric Bouton will be in for the suspended Colin McDonald. Casey Cizikas starts on right wing with Ullstrom and Aucoin.
- George Richards via twitter: Panthers Ed Jovanovksi is out until at least Tuesday. There is no structural damage to his knee.
- James Mirtle via twitter: Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle said that Mike Brown will be out a minimum of 7 days with a shoulder strain. Defenseman Mike Komisarek will remain out.
- Stephen Whyno via twitter: Capitals Brooks Laich (groin) skated with the team for the first time this year. Laich: ”As far as a timeline I can’t really tell you. I don’t have an exact date. But getting closer and closer every day.”

- Nick Kypreos via twitter: A formal announcement regarding the moving of the Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg could come as early as 10 am tomorrow morning. Bob McKenzie via twitter: “WPG lawyers signed off on their end. ATL lawyers doing their due diligence now. Soon as they sign off, deal is done, pending board approval.” Bob McKenzie via twitter: “If ATL lawyers sign off today, announcement tomorrow morning. If ATL lawyers don’t sign off today, drags out another day or two.”
- Erik Erlendsson via twitter: Steven Stamkos was dealing with a shoulder injury in round 1 versus the Penguins, but it was fine by the end of the series. He’ll undergo a CT scan on his nasal area to see if there is any damage.
- Jeff Marek via twitter: Casey Cizikas will be signing a contract with the NY Islanders.
