- Joshua Cooper via twitter: Shane O’Brien was suspended for 2 games.
- Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: The San Jose Sharks, or any other club for that matter, have not called Oilers GM Steve Tambellini about Sheldon Souray. Souray is out with a bad knee.
- Dennis Bernstein via twitter: Bernstein responds to question, Voracek for Kostitsyn is a weak rumor out of Quebec.
- Katie Strang via twitter: Jon Sim was waived by the Islanders earlier this week, he cleared waivers, but did not report to their AHL club. He’s been placed on unconditional waivers, and when he clears that, he won’t be property of the team anymore.
- Tom Reed via twitter: Ethan Moreau will remain on the IR for an additional 3 weeks with cracked ribs.
- Pierre LeBrun via twitter: Anssi Salmela cleared waivers today.
- Michael Russo via twitter: Patrick O’Sullivan cleared waivers today and was assigned to the AHL.
- Katie Strang via twitter: The Islanders have put Dylan Reese on waivers.
- Ian Mendes via twitter: Brian Elliott will start in net for the Senators.
- Tom Gulitti via twitter: Dwayne Roloson will start for the Lightning.

- Tim Panaccio via twitter: Chris Pronger will miss 4-6 weeks after having surgery to repair a broken bone is his right foot.
- Katie Carrera via twitter: Alexander Semin won’t travel with the team to Boston, but could meet them in Ottawa according to Bruce Boudreau. Scott Hannan and Tyler Sloan are both game-time decisions, both are sick.
- Joshua Cooper via twitter: Pekka Rinne, “Right now I can pretty much say I’m 100 percent”
- Adrian Dater via twitter: Paul Stastny and Milan Hejduk won’t be in the lineup for the Avalanche tonight. Stastny skated for a bit today but left early.
- Allen Panzeri via twitter: Pascal Leclaire will be in net for the Senators tonight against the Avalanche. Matt Carkner is a game-time decision with an ankle cut.
- Katie Carrera via twitter: The Washington Capitals have signed John Erskine to a 2 year contract extension for $3 million.
- Tim Sassone via twitter: Patrick Kane hopes to play on Sunday.
- Bob McKenzie via twitter: The Chicago Blackhawks have placed Jassen Cullimore on waivers. Jon Sim was put on waivers by the Islanders.

- Elliotte Friedman of CBC Sports: Some people in the Calgary Flames organization want Jarome Iginla to be traded. Friedman was told in the summer that “Iginla will not agree to a trade unless the Flames make it public that any move is the team’s choice, not his.” Mark Giordano had a 3-way contract six years ago, one for each of the NHL, AHL, and ECHL.
- Will DePaoli via twitter: Jordan Staal is seeing a doctor after suffering an upper-body injury. It appeared to be his hand according to DePaoli. Bob McKenzie via twitter: (before he suffered new injury) If Jordan Staal’s practices go well the next 2 days could determine if he plays on Wednesday or Friday.
- Will DePaoli via twitter: Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are both missing from practice today.
- Kevin Allen via twitter: Going on waivers today are Jon Sim (NYI), Jeff DesLauriers (Ed) and Mike Moore (SJ).
- Allen Panzeri via twitter: Pascal Leclaire could be the backup for the Senators tomorrow night against the Leafs, survived the entire practice today. Filip Kuba also lasted entire practice, could be back on Thursday.
- Ben Wright via twitter: Bryan Little (concussion) is still awaiting his test results and isn’t at practice. Freddy Meyer also didn’t practice.
- Eric Stephens via twitter: It’s looking like Cam Fowler will be in the lineup on Wednesday, the Anaheim Ducks should decide this week if he’ll remain with the club or be sent back to Junior.
- Andrew Gross via twitter: Marian Gaborik says that his shoulder still isn’t pain free, took a couple wrist shots, no slap shots. Darren Dreger via twitter: Gaborik skated on his own today for the first time since his shoulder injury, still weeks away.
- Andrew Gross via twitter: Vinny Prospal isn’t doing any leg exercises, doing hand-bike exercises. Chris Drury doing off-ice exercises.
- Jonas Siegel via twitter: The Toronto Maple Leafs have sent Mike Zigomanis to the Toronto Marlies.
