NHL Attendance For Each Team After 12 Home Games: 2012-13
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News on March 19th, 2013
Here is round two of our attendance tracking for this season. As noted in our first installment, we’re tracking based on six game increments or 25% percent of their home games.
Attendance figures have to be taken with a grain of salt as they are not always reported correctly, see Florida Panthers.

NHL Attendance For Each Team After 6 Home Games: 2012-13
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News on February 27th, 2013
In past years we’ve tracked NHL attendance in 10 game segments, basically 25% of a teams home schedule.
Due to the exciting lockout we were all forced to endure, teams will only be playing 24 home games this year. In keeping with 25% of the schedule, we are posting NHL attendance for each team after 6 home games this year.
I’m still not sure of the accuracy of the Panthers numbers, as I don’t see how they are running at over 100% capacity.

NHL Attendance for each team after 30 home games: 2011-12
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News, NHL Opinion on March 5th, 2012
Our 3rd look at NHL attendance this season. The Winter Classic attendance is included in Philadlephia’s numbers, hence the high “% Capacity” number.
14 teams are at 100% or more. 21 teams are above 95% Capacity. There is a drop off after that as no team is between 86.1% and and 95.6.

NHL Attendance for each team after 20 home games
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News, NHL Opinion on January 19th, 2011
So we continue our look at NHL attendance this season. Our first look was at Home Attendance after 10 games, and here’s our 2nd update after 20 home games for each team. A NY snow storm dropped the Isles attendance below 10,000, but after their next home game, they were above. We’ve included teams attendance after 10 games, as well as the last couple years.

NHL Attendance for each team after 10 home games
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News, NHL Opinion on December 3rd, 2010
Attendance has been a hot topic at various points this season. Record lows are hitting some arenas despite the fact that the team is winning. I’ve been keeping track of home attendance and have put together attendance figures for each NHL team after 10 home dates, along with their numbers from the last 2 seasons.
Will Phoenix’s season average drop below 10,000? Will fans in Columbus and Atlanta start to recognize the teams current success? Despite being in playoff contention and not having an owner, will fans in Dallas start to head back to the arena? The Stars are averaging 3,354 less than last year.
Don’t hesitate to leave a comment on your thoughts on NHL attendance so far this season. I plan on posting an update at the 20 game mark.

More on Brad Richards … Radulov signing KHL extension? NHL attendance
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News, NHL Rumors on October 22nd, 2010
- Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Heika answers questions from readers. Asked if signing Brad Richards to a contract extension could help entice a new owner. Heika thinks it’s possible and that they have already considered it, but it would be tough to put together as it would involve Richards, the team, the lenders and the NHL. Richards does have a no trade, therefore controls his destiny before he becomes a UFA on July 1st. If the team is struggling in February, Heika thinks he would consider waiving it to move to a contender. He later goes on to say that a contract extension for Richards before the end of the season is unlikely. Heika doesn’t think the Stars would be interested in Sheldon Souray if he’s put on re-entry waivers, he has another year left after this year, and it may be better for the organization to rid out the young kids.
- Dmitry Chesnokov via twitter: There are reports that Alexander Radulov signed a 3 year contract extension with the KHL’s Salavat Yulaef.
- David Johnson (Hockey Analysis) via twitter: Last night’s attendance in Phoenix was 6,706. Last season there were 19 games where the announced attendance was under 10,000, with 11 being in Phoenix. 5,580 was the lowest attendance last season, but low number may have been a result of snow storm.
