Wild acquire Rupp from Rangers for Palmieri and Powe

The Minnesota Wild have acquired forward Michael Rupp from the New York Rangers for right winger Nick Palmieri and forward Darroll Powe.
Rupp was originally drafted by the Islanders in 1998, 9th overall in the 1st round. He went back into the draft and was picked 76th overall in the 3rd round in 2000 by the Devils. He carries a $1.5 million cap hit.
Palmieri was originally drafted by the Devils in 2007, 79th overall in the 3rd round. He carries a $577,500 cap hit.
Powe was undrafted and carries a $1,066,667 salary cap hit.

Dam Rosen via twitter: The Minnesota Wild will receive Kurtis Foster, Nick Palmieri, Stephane Veilleux, a 2012 2nd round pick and a 2013 conditional pick from the New Jersey Devils for Marek Zidlicky. Michael Russo via twitter: conditional pick is 3rd round pick if the Devils reach the conference finals.
Rich Chere via twitter: The 2nd round pick will be Washington’s 2nd round pick. (NJ acquired the pick in the Jason Arnott trade).
Zidlicky has one more year left on his contract at $4 million.
8:30 PM:
Josh Rimer via twitter: Hearing Devils get Zidlicky for Kurtis Foster and 4th round pick. Nick Kypreos via twitter: Confirming that Foster has been told he’s been traded to Minnesota.
8:05 PM:
- Bob McKenzie via twitter: Minnesota Wild defenseman Marek Zidlicky has waived his no trade clause to be dealt to the New Jersey Devils.
A deal has not been announced yet, but it appears to be imminent.
- Mark Spector via twitter: The Rangers liked Zidlicky, especially if a young defenseman goes to Nashville.

- Dirk Hoag via twitter: Predators defenseman Ryan Suter will be a game-time decision with an upper body injury.
- Rich Chere via twitter: Devils center Adam Henrique is unable to practice due to a groin issue. The Devils have sent Nick Palmieri to the AHL.
- David Alter via twitter: The Maple Leafs have recalled Jake Gardiner. The Marlies don’t play again until next Saturday. James Mirtle via twitter: Mirtle points out that Gardiner’s recall doesn’t mean a Maple Leafs trade is happening. They wanted to get Gardiner into a game in the AHL yesterday.
