Trade groundwork has been laid … Time running short for Turris … Devils and Kings talking … Krejci odd man out … Filatov on his way out
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News, NHL Rumors on November 17th, 2011
- Craig Custance of ESPN: Teams are closing in on the point where they know what they have and what they may need. Blue GM Doug Armstrong:
“A lot of groundwork has been laid and (Tuesday) was more putting fertilizer on some of those seeds you planted to see what happens. You get more work done when you’re in the room with 30 people than trying to pick up the phone 30 different times.”
Calgary Flames GM Jay Feaster:
“We have a lot of work to do,” Flames GM Jay Feaster said. “We’re not happy where we are. We need to improve in a lot of areas. This isn’t acceptable to be where we are right now.”
The Hurricanes are 1-5-0 in their last 6 and are in need of a shakeup. The Islanders have dropped to last in the Eastern Conference. The Jets may be thinking long-term and have 2 UFA’s in Chris Mason and Johnny Oduya. Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff:
“I’m not a big believer on putting deadlines on anything,” he said. “You make decisions based on what the right timing is for you. The league puts a lot of deadlines on you for signing guys or trading deadlines, so you certainly have parameters. But I’m not going to put any deadlines on it.”
- Pierre LeBrun of ESPN: The NHL board of governors will vote on realignment at the Dec. 5th-6th meetings. The Wings would like to move to the Eastern Conference, or at least play home-and-homes with the other Conference. Western Conference teams don’t want to see the Red Wings move to the East. Coyotes GM Don Maloney reiterated his stance with Kyle Turris.
“For the 15-hundredth time, we have no intention of trading him, regardless of the offer, at all whatsoever,” Maloney told ESPN.com.
Turris has 1 and 2 year offers from the Coyotes sitting on the table. The Blue Jackets have intensified their efforts to get a goalie. Antero Niittymaki won’t be back for another 3-4 weeks, but could be on the move at some point. Teams have inquired to see if he’s available.
- The Fourth Period: The LA Kings and NJ Devils maybe talking trade, they are both scouting each other. The Devils have been interested in Jonathan Bernier in the past, but sources close to the Kings have said they are not interested in trading Bernier at this moment, unless blown away by an offer. The Devils may also be looking for some scoring help, but that help likely isn’t coming from the Kings, unless they are interested in Dustin Penner. Dustin Brown and Jack Johnson could be trade candidates as well.
- Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Matheson notes the Predators have positioned themselves well to retain both Ryan Suter and Shea Weber. They may be able to get Suter in the 7 years for $49 million range and Weber for 6 or 5 years at $7.5 million. Matheson doesn’t see them trading either defenseman and wouldn’t be surprised if Alexander Radulov returns to Nashville next season. Matheson also thinks that if Linus Omark isn’t called up in the next month, he’ll head back to Europe.
- James Murphy via twitter: Murphy calls the Rask for Nash rumors bogus and comical.
- Joe Haggerty via twitter: Haggerty thinks that David Krejci could be the odd guy out in Boston with Bergeron and Seguin down the middle. The Bruins aren’t sure he’s a $5 million a year guy.
- Slava Malamud via twitter: CSKA of the KHL is working on a loan with the Senators regarding Nikita Filatov.
- Terry Koshan of the Toronto Sun: Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke has said again that he is not interested in Marty Turco. Names on Burke’s radar could be Scott Clemmensen (FLA), Evgeni Nabokov (NYI) and Antero Niittymaki (SJ). Saturday will mark 4 weeks since James Reimer has hit by Brian Gionta. Ben Scrivens will start tonight, marking his 6th start in the last 7 games.
- Dennis Bernstein via twitter: Bernstein wonders if it’s time for the Trent Hunter experiment in LA to end, and to bring up a young speedy forward.
- Tim Sassone via twitter: If Blackhawks Rostislav Olesz is sent to the minors, they’ll have $6.95 million in cap space. Plenty of room for a center and/or a power play QB.
Kane anxious for season … Bruins seeing what Marchand’s trade value is … Krejci and Bruins talking extension … Canucks have top 6 spot open
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News, NHL Rumors on September 11th, 2011
- Toni Ginnetti of the Chicago Sun-Times: Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane still has his cast on his left wrist, but is sure he’ll be ready for the season opener.
‘‘It’s been a long time, and I’m anxious to start the season,’’ Kane said Saturday as he and four teammates took part in Blackhawks Day at U.S. Cellular Field. ‘‘I think I’ll be ready right away. I think once I get this [cast] off, I’ll be able to do pretty much anything. I practiced with the guys the other day, just trying to keep up with skating. I think just strengthening it will be the only thing.’
- Bruce Garrioch via twitter: With the Bruins training camp approaching and with no contract for Brad Marchand, the Bruins are sniffing around to see what his trade value is. “For those doubting the Bruins shopping Marchand. Don’t.” Garrioch doesn’t think the gap is insurmoutable but the Bruins may want to see what they can get for him after 1 good year.
- Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe: The Bruins and David Krejci had started contract extension talks. Krejci should be the teams number 1 center and is entering the final year of his 3 year, $11.25 million deal. He could see a deal similar to Patrice Bergeron’s 3 year, $15 million deal.
- Jim Jamieson of the Vancouver Province: The Vancouver Canucks will have a spot in their top 6 open due to Ryan Kesler’s offseason hip surgery and with Mason Raymond out still with his fractured vertebrae. Cody Hodgson, Chris Higgins, Marco Sturm and Bill Sweatt will be vying for a spot.
- Josh Cooper of the Tennessean: Cooper lists 5 prospects Predators fans should watch: Chet Prickard, Ryan Ellis, Craig Smith, Roman Josi and Austin Watson.
- Katie Carrrera of the Washington Post: Though the Capitals have 7 defenseman on 1-way contracts, not including Tom Poti, prospect Dmitry Orlov may push those ahead of him on the depth chart. Other Capitals prospects to watch are forward Cody Eakin, Mattias Sjogren and Stanislav Galiev.
Bergeron needs medical clearance … Contract talks for Gorges and Markov next … Coaching candidates
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL Free Agents, NHL News, NHL Rumors on May 19th, 2011
- Steve Conroy of the Boston Bruins: Patrice Bergeron just needs medical clearance before he can get back in the Bruins lineup. He took contact at yesterday’s practice, and will take part in this mornings practice before deciding if he’s in or not. He’d most likely center Mark Recchi and Brad Marchand. Shawn Thornton would likely be the odd man out. Tyler Seguin would likely remain with Chris Kelly and Michael Ryder.
- Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: If Drew Miller is back with the Red Wings next year or not, it will come down to price. He made $650,000 this past season, and was a valuable penalty killer. He added 10 goals and 8 assists in 67 games. “Hopefully we can work something out. I’d definitely like to stay — I mean, it’s a great organization here. They have a lot of depth, but that’s what happens when you have a good team.”
- Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette: The Canadiens now have 3 defenseman under contract for next season, Alexei Yemelin, PK Subban and Jaroslav Spacek. Negotiations for Josh Gorges and Andrei Markov are next. Because of the salary cap, it’s unlikely that James Wisniewski or Brent Sopel will be back. Hal Gill and Roman Hamrlik could be back at the right price.
- Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review: Salary cap issues could prevent the Penguins from re-signing Tyler Kennedy. They’d like to keep him, but the RFA may be in the $1.5 – $2 million range. He had 21 goals and 45 points last season. Kennedy could be traded before the team has to send him a qualifying offer.
- Tony Marinaro via twitter: Bob Boughner stepped down as the Blue Jackets assistant coach. Marinaro is hearing that Florida or Dallas could be possible teams he could coach.
- Rich Hammond of the LA Kings Insider: Oscar Moller update. He’s expected to sign 2 year deal with a team in Sweden, and the Kings would almost certain retain the RFA’s rights. To retain his rights they would just have to extend a qualifying offer by June 27th.
- Andy Strickland of True Hockey: Dave Cameron (Mississauga OHL head coach) is being strongly considered as the next Ottawa Senators head coach. Minnesota and Florida are possible destinations for former NY Islanders head coach Scott Gordon. A source tells Strickland to not completely write off Brad Richards to Tampa. Strickland (and myself) doesn’t see it happening. A $4-5 million price tag for Jaromir Jagr could be a hefty price if a potential 3rd line NHL winger. Strickland is told that Mike Modano will officially retire at some point this off-season. Chris Osgood could do the same.
Bergeron traveling with team to Tampa … Kubina not progressing well … Moller to Sweden … Vishneskiy to KHL … No contract news for Parise
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL Free Agents, NHL Injuries, NHL News, NHL Rumors on May 18th, 2011
- Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald: A team spokesman said that he believes Patrice Bergeron will travel with the club to Tampa today. He’s progressing well and could be in the lineup for Game 3 or 4.
- Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune: Pavel Kubina is still listed as ‘day-to-day’ with an upper body injury. He’s been out since Game 1 of the Washington series after hitting his head against the boards. “He’s not even here, so the update is not very good,” Boucher said. “Every day when there seems to be a little progression, it kind of slips back a bit. So, it’s kind of an injury that you never know. You wake up the next day and everything’s great or just keeps on going the same way, so it’s very hard to monitor what’s going on with him.”
- Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette: Penguins GM Ray Shero said he’s “had a few conversations” some of their soon to be free agents representatives. Negotiations for most of their free agents will have to wait until after their amateur scouting meetings are over (running June 6-8). He didn’t rule out doing a deal or two before. The Penguins have about $55.7 million committed to 17 players for next year. Sidney Crosby is scheduled to meet with his concussion specialist before the end of the month.
- Chicago Sun-Times: Blackhawks prospect Ivan Vishnevskiy signed with Atlanta of the KHL. He was acquired with a 2nd round pick for Andrew Ladd. His entry level deal expired after this season. Vishneskiy had 15 points in 46 game in the AHL.
- Rich Hammond of LA Kings Insider: Kings prospect Oscar Moller has been talking to teams in Sweden and could be signing a 2 year contract. Any contract he signs would have an ‘out’ clause so that he could return to the NHL. The Kings don’t really mind this, as it will allow him to play professionally and gain some experience against older players.
- Andy Strickland via twitter: There is still no indication if Vladimir Tarasenko is looking to buyout his KHL contract and sign a NHL deal.
- Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: The Stars have contacted several potential coaching candidates but don’t have a timetable to the hiring. “The ownership situation is a huge part of this, and it’s something we’re going to have to be aware of,” said Nieuwendyk.
- Kevin Allen via twitter: A group interested in keeping the Thrashers in Atlanta have submitted a term sheet outlining their offer. The 2nd group is serious but not are not as far along in the financial process compared to the True North group.
- Tom Gulitti via twitter: NJDevils RFA Zach Parise said in an email that he’s heard nothing on a contract yet.
- Dmitry Chesnokov via twitter: KHL’s Avagnard is still interested in signing Jaromir Jagr unless he wants more money. The Alexander Frolov signing doesn’t affect Jagr’s situation.
Bergeron’s status still unknown … Hurricanes off-season notes … Devils coaching candidates … Some Flyers goalie options
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL Free Agents, NHL News, NHL Rumors on May 17th, 2011
- Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald: Patrice Bergeron skated with the Bruins strength and conditioning coach yesterday before practice. He did some work with the team, so there may be hope that he can go tonight. He took part in some power play and penalty killing drills, and took a few shifts with linemates Recchi and Marchand. When asked if Bergeron was ruled out for Game 2, Julien said, “No comments.” Then he added, “I don’t know. Is that better?”
- Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald: Tyler Seguin practiced on the 1st power play unit with Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton, and later on the 2nd unit with Mark Recchi and Michael Ryder. “We’ve got different looks, we’ve got different players. We want to make the power play work. And it’s never a bad thing to have those guys go through it, and if at one point you need him, you need him,” Julien said. “And what I said (Sunday) was exactly what we wanted to do with Tyler. I mean he hadn’t played a playoff game yet, and you give him a little bit to chew and then you give him maybe opportunities if need be in other areas.”
- Bob McKenzie via twitter: “IF, and I said IF, ATL moves to WPG, conventional wisdom is WPG to Northwest, MIN to Central and NSH to Southeast. But…” “…due to time issues, notion of WPG playing 1 season in Southeast not out of question. Realignment would come 1 yr later. Still lotsa ifs.”
- Chip Alexander via twitter: Though there is no offical work, Paul Maurice is expected to return as the Hurricanes head coach next season. Ron Francis is expected to move to assistant GM from his assistant coaching position. Erik Cole could possibly re-sign with the Canes before July 1st, and Brandon Sutter could get a long term deal. Cory Stillman could also re-sign with the Hurricanes, and then move to the front office after he’s done playing. The Canes will look to re-sign Chad LaRose. Re-signing Joni Pitkanen and Jussi Jokinen will be tougher. If they are unable to re-sign Pitkanen, they will look at bringing in another defenseman. They will also look signing an experienced backup and 4th line center.
- Dmitry Chesnokov via twitter: Kings prospect Maxim Kitsyn said he’ll most likely start next year in the KHL.
- Chris Botta of the NY Times: The New Jersey Devils head coaching search will now start as all candidates are available to talk. Likely to get a call from Lou are Ken Hitchcock, Michel Therrien, Kirk Muller, Scott Gordon, Mike Haviland and Larry Robinson. They should have a head coach picked before the draft on June 24th.
- Chuck Gormley of the Deleware New Journal: There are whispers that the Flyers may make a pitch for Ryan Miller, Henrik Lundqvist, Miikka Kiprusoff, Niklas Backstrom or Martin Brodeur. The only way to pull off a Miller, Lundqvist or Brodeur deal would be to involve a 3rd team. Kiprusoff will be 35 in October and makes $5.833 million. Backstrom has a $6 million cap hit and would require them to shed at least $3 million. They could trade Jeff Carter to the Wild. Gormley adds they could send Kris Versteeg and Matt Carle for Backstrom and perhaps Brent Burns (It would take a lot more than Versteeg and Carle to get Backstrom and Burns IMO).
Bergeron could be back for Game 2 … Red Wings off-season notes … Jagr talking to KHL teams … Oilers interested in Lajunen
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL Free Agents, NHL News, NHL Rumors on May 15th, 2011
- Joe Haggerty via twitter: Indications Haggerty got from Bruins players is that Patrice Bergeron is going to play in Game 2.
- Ansar Khan of MLive: The Red Wings internally talked about acquiring Zach Bogosian at the trade deadline but they didn’t want to breakup the core of a contending team. Jiri Hudler could be a trade candidate this summer, but his $2.875 million salary could be tough to move unless they take back another contract. Khan wonders if the Wings would consider trading Valtteri Filppula? He’s talented but inconsistent and may not ever become the 70 point guy they think he could be.
- Ansar Khan of MLive: Red Wings Kris Draper and Chris Osgood will both ponder retirement this off-season. Mike Modano is 75% on leaning to retirement. Defenseman Jonathan Ericsson is a UFA but would like to re-sign. “I might make more money somewhere else, but I want to stay,” Ericsson said. Drew Miller and Patrick Eaves are also UFA’s and woulds like to stay. Pavel Datsyuk won’t need surgery on his injured wrist.
- Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Jaromir Jagr has had contract talks with SKA St. Petersburg and other KHL teams. Pascal Dupuis and Mike Rupp’s agent Allan Walsh hasn’t had talks with the Penguins yet but expects “to begin discussions in the near future.”
- Dan Barnes of the Edmonton Journal: The Edmonton Oilers are one of a few teams that are interested in Finnish defenseman Ville Lajunen, and have had preliminary discussions with the Oilers. “They told me they must first have their pro (scouting) meetings and then they will make a decision, but there are other teams too,” said Pulliainen.
Bergeron has a mild concussion, Seguin could fill his spot … Flyers could use Bryzgalov … Pronger and Richards may need surgery
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL Injuries, NHL News, NHL Rumors on May 8th, 2011
- Matt Kalman of the Boston Herald: Bruins center Patrice Bergeron has a “mild concussion” from a Claude Giroux hit in Game 4. He likely won’t be available for the start of their series with Tampa Bay. This is Bergeron’s 3rd publicized concussion, he missed almost an entire year from his 1st concussion (2007-08 season), over a month from his second (Dec. 2008). Tyler Seguin is expected to replace Bergeron if he can’t go. Steve Buckley of the Boston Herald: Bruins GM Peter Chirarelli all but said Seguin would in the lineup if Bergeron isn’t able to play, Seguin “certainly deserves a chance.” Seguin was a healthy scratch down the stretch and hasn’t played in any of their 11 playoff games.
- Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: Carchidi thinks that Ilya Bryzgalov would be the “perfect complement” to Sergei Bobrovsky. If they were to sign Bryzgalov, they likely wouldn’t be able to re-sign Ville Leino, and would have to move out a high paid defenseman. They could also look at trading for one of Jonathan Bernier or Cory Schneider.
- Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: The Flyers will find out tomorrow if Chris Pronger and Mike Richards require off-season surgery. Pronger has a back issue, and Richards finished out the season with an injured wrist. Andreas Nodl’s upper-body injury was a concussion.
- Arthur Staple of Newsday: NY Rangers prospect Chris Kreider probably won’t be suiting up for team next year. “I don’t feel like I’m ready for the NHL ,” said Kreider “Another year [at Boston College ] can’t hurt.”
Savard to undergo physical exertion test soon … Staal and Tavares skate … Rafalski out 3-4 weeks
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News on October 13th, 2010
- Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com: Marc Savard will undergo a physical exertion test in the next few days. He’s been doing low-intensity workouts, and has been making slow, steady progress. If/when he passes the test, it would be at least 4-6 before he’d return to the Bruins lineup.
- Katie Strang via twitter: John Tavares felt good after yesterday’s skate, and skated again today.
- Rob Longley via twitter: Jordan Staal skated today by himself, but don’t read into it too much, he’s still a-ways-away.
- Joe Haggerty via twitter: Both Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara have no movement clauses in their deals.
- Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News: Brian Rafalski is out 3-4 weeks after having surgery on his left knee.
- Helene Elliot via twitter: Andres Lilja is unlikely to play with the Anaheim Ducks this weekend as he has to leave the US to get the proper visa/paperwork.
Chara signs extension … Coyotes ‘sale’ update … NJ can play with 20 or less … Bergeron contract breakdown plus more
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News, NHL Rumors on October 9th, 2010
- James Murphy of ESPN: Deal is for 7 years and $45.5 million. The “Ilya Kovalchuk” rule is in effect for this deal as Chara will turn 41 three months before the deal expires. For the first 6 years will carry a cap hit of $6.917 million, $4 million in the last year.
- Update 10:19 am: Jimmy Murphy via twitter: One source telling Murphy (chasing down more to confirm) that Chara’s deal is 7 years at $6.5 million per season.
- Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe: The Boston Bruins and Zdeno Chara are finalizing a long term contract extension. The contract could be done in this morning/early afternoon. It could be in the 6-7 year range at slightly lower than his $7.5 cap hit. It could be in the $6.5-6.8 million range.
- Rebekah L. Sanders: The process to sell the Phoenix Coyotes has been “characterized by missed deadlines, failed negotiations and growing worries as the final cutoff for negotiations loom.” If the Coyotes are not sold by Christmas time to someone who is willing to keep the team in Phoenix, the team will then becomes available for relocation. The city of Glendale as worked for months on 2 deals to see them fall through. Chicago investor Matthew Hulsizer has recently stepped up as the 3rd person/group attempting to get something worked out. Keeping the team in Glendale “remains our sole objective today,” Daly said. “Nothing to this point in time would suggest to us that the objective is unachievable.” The Coyotes have lost as much as $30 million each year since moving from Winnipeg in 1996. A stumbling block on any deal, “Glendale and the NHL want a buyer to reimburse them for keeping the team afloat these excruciating months.“
- Mark Everson of the NY Post: The New Jersey Devils are right against the cap with 20 players (played with 20 last night). A league official said they “would be allowed to start play with just 19 players dressed, or 18, or even 17, if they had to.” Without trading or demoting someone, they don’t have the room to call up someone as an injury replacement.
- Pierre LeBrun via twitter: Patrice Bergeron’s contract breakdown: $1 million signing bonus each year. $4.9 million in 2011-12, $3.55 million in 2012-13, $3.55 million in 2013-14 season.
- Joanne Ireland of the Edmonton Journal: Sheldon Souray is grateful for the opportunity to be playing in Hershey, and added this, “I look at coming here as a positive thing for me to get in this environment, in a winning environment, in a structured and healthy environment, and just start a new kind of chapter in my life.”
- Rich Hammond of LA Kings Insider: Despite being on the 4th line, rookie Brayden Schenn will get some power play time. Coach Terry Murray “Schenn has been a big part of that power play throughout the training camp. He’s got good vision, he’s composed, he makes good plays. He’s going to start there with Kopitar on that group right now. We sure liked what we saw in the practice today.”
- Bob McKenzie via twitter: Yesterday the Carolina Hurricanes put Justin Pogge and Brett Carson on waivers.
- Eric Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail: Not a rumor or anything, but a good piece on the trend to cheap goaltending.
Bruins sign Patrice Bergeron to a 3 year, $15 million extension
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL News on October 8th, 2010
- Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com: The Boston Bruins and Patrice Bergeron have agreed in principle to a 3 year contract extension worth $15 million. It was first reported by the RDS last night and confirmed this morning.
A source informed CSNNE yesterday that a deal was “unlikely to happen” while the team was in Europe, but after a lengthy conversation between Bergeron and GM Peter Chiarelli, things changed.
- Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe: A formal news conference of the Bergeron signing will take place this afternoon (local not Prague time). Chiarelli and Bergeron will comment after practice (early this morning, EST).
Mitchell could get offers starting today … Bruins interested in Bieksa? Nothing new on Bergeron and Chara extensions, or a Savard trade
Posted by Mark Easson in NHL Free Agents, NHL Rumors on August 18th, 2010
- Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Pronvince: Willie Mitchell has made it through 4 physicals symptom free. The front runners are the Canucks, Sharks, Kings, and Capitals. Mitchell is expected to make a decision in the next week. The Kings are able to offer more than the Canucks, who are hoping he’ll give them a hometown discount. Even if the Canucks were able to re-sign him, they would still have to make some moves, possibly moving out Andrew Alberts and/or Kevin Bieksa.
- Katie Carrera of the Washington Post: Mitchell met with the Capitals yesterday. Mitchell’s agent, Mike Luit, said there isn’t an established timeline for his client to make a decision. He’s been symptom free during workouts, is behind on his conditioning, but in 5-6 weeks he’ll be back to normal.
- Nick Kypreos via twitter: Mitchell may receive up to 4 offers as early as today (Caps, Sharks, Kings, Canucks), and don’t be surprised if someone gives him a long term deal.
- Curtis Zupke of the OC Register: Mitchell may be out of the Anaheim Ducks price range, especially since they still have to sign RFA Bobby Ryan.
- Jimmy Murphy via twitter: The Bruins might be interested in Kevin Bieksa. Murphy isn’t sure what the Canucks would want, but they once had interest in Michael Ryder when he was a UFA.
- Dennis Bernstein via twitter: All is quiet in the Ducks side of things involving their pursuit of Bieksa.
- Jimmy Murphy via twitter: The Kovalchuk ruling probably won’t have any effect on a contract extension for Patrice Bergeron since he’s only 25. Bergeron’s next contract “won’t be his last“.
- James (Jimmy) Murphy of ESPNBoston: There is nothing new to report on the Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron contract extensions. There is also nothing new involving Marc Savard.
- Helen St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Backup goalie, Chris Osgood needs to have a bounce back season after 2 sub-par seasons. Osgood will be 38 in November, and is the in the last year of his contract. It’s assumed he’d like to comeback next year, but he’ll have to prove to the team he’s still capable.
